There are too many Missourians struggling to make ends meet who also have to deal with high rent apartments. There are too many boarded up, broken down, and abandoned houses plaguing our neighborhoods, while absentee landlords reside across the country or globe. It’s time we hold these distant “investors” accountable and take back our blocks by creating legislation that makes it easier for local investors and motivated individuals, like new families and young professionals, to re-invest in our communities. Those properties which are too rundown for repair need to be demolished before they attract criminal activity and further decrease property values.
